A cutting-edge website in just 8 weeks
A mobile-friendly and secure browsing experience for Yorkshire-based firm
Founded in 1981, Atlas Knives provide comprehensive machine knife sales, replacement and sharpening services to a wide range of industries across the UK and beyond.
As a well-known local business in West Yorkshire, a visible internet presence was a vital addition to their multi-channel marketing strategy. The old website was not mobile responsive, meaning that over 40% of first-time visitors were presented with a website that was hard to navigate. Whilst highly regarded by its customers and peers, upgrading the company’s website was simply something they could not do without.
What We Did
Given the specialist nature of their business, we began the process of growing their online presence by benchmarking a selection of relevant keywords to assess their ranking.
Working alongside the client, we established priority keywords that would be highly valuable to both themselves and their direct competitors and built a comprehensive SEO campaign into the website build itself.
Update and Upgrade
We provided them with a clean, contemporary website that now offers an excellent user experience. Easy to read and navigate, with drop-down menus and contact pages, customers can now find what they are looking at the drop of a hat.
From household knife-sharpening for private customers to the manufacture of precision knives for commercial machinery, there is now detailed information about every service they offer on the website itself.
The new website now ranks really well in Google search results, as a result of our in-depth keyword research at the start of the project, and our best practices in the construction of the website to comply with Google algorithms.
In addition to the website, we also created and optimised a Google My Business profile page, to ensure that Atlas Knives can always be found in local search listings and on Google Maps searches.
“It’s great working with Ben at The Content Works, he’s obviously very knowledgeable but able to explain in non-technical terms we can understand. He was able to outline realistic time frames and set expectations so we knew what was going to happen and what we would achieve within our budget.”
